No city has been officially confirmed yet, but casting is actively underway in five markets: Charlotte, Detroit, Las Vegas, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C. Whichever city producers lock in becomes the Season 21 setting.
Charlotte is the one drawing the most attention — it’s a repeat location, having hosted Season 9 back in 2019.
Casting director Donna Driscoll has pointed to the city’s diversity and its pool of marriage-minded young professionals as reasons it’s back in the mix. That said, nothing’s locked until Peacock makes it official.
Who Can Apply — Eligibility Requirements
The baseline requirements, per the official casting application:
- At least 21 years old
- A legal U.S. resident with a valid passport (international travel is possible during production)
- Single — not married, not in a committed relationship, not in the middle of a divorce
- Available for the full production window, roughly nine weeks
What the Application Actually Asks
This isn’t a quick form. The application runs more than 70 questions deep, covering personal history, dating preferences, and dealbreakers — things like how important it is to be matched with someone of the same race or ethnicity, details on your last relationship and how long it lasted, and questions about your childhood and whether your parents stayed together.
The goal is to give casting a real psychological and relational profile, not just a headshot and a tagline.

When Does Season 21 Premiere?
Season 20 is confirmed for 2026 but doesn’t have a set premiere date yet. The Season 21 casting application lists an August–October 2026 production window, which points to a 2027 release.
Worth noting: MAFS used to release two seasons a year like clockwork, but that cadence appears to have shifted since the show’s move to Peacock, so treat any specific 2027 date as an estimate until it’s confirmed.
